In this case each individual wire is treated to a galvanizing process which gives the steel a fully corrosion resistant finish. Then the wires are weaved together to create the final steel wire rope.
As well as offering a corrosion resistant finish, the zinc plating on galvanised steel wire rope also acts as a lubricate which helps to reduce wear on the rope itself and any steel hardware parts which interact with the rope.
